Sodium Alginate Solution
Calcium Chloride Bath
Water Bath
Step 1
In the first bowl, add the water and set it aside, then in the blender, add the water and sodium alginate, and blend it on high for about 10 seconds. Transfer the mixture to the second bowl, wash the blender clean, and add the water and calcium chloride.
Step 2
Blend it on high for about 15 seconds, then transfer it to the third bowl, and start making your edible water balloons. Dip the ice cream scoop in the calcium chloride bath, then take a spoonful of sodium alginate, and dip it back in the calcium bath holding it in there for about 15 seconds before releasing the ball carefully.
Step 3
Repeat the same steps with the rest, then leave the balls for about 3 to 5 minutes, and transfer them to the water bath to rinse off the solution, eat them immediately for the burst effect. If you want to make flavored ones, then make sure to strain them well, and scoop them as usual.
