Level up your garden pots this spring by adding some magical elements to them. Learn how to create a DIY fantasy-themed design and transform old pots into a fairy house through this video tutorial by Kitty Ideas on YouTube.

Ingredients:

  • Air-dry clay
  • Wood glue
  • Old pot
  • White spray paint
  • Acrylic paint, white, black, orange, brown
  • Paintbrush
  • Paint sponge
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Fake moss and grass
  • Silicone mold, door, window, and mushroom
  • Small pebbles

Directions:

Step 1

Spray paint an old pot with white beforehand, then leave it to dry completely while working on the air-dry clay. While waiting for the paint to dry, put some clay on the silicone molds and make 1 door, 2 windows, and a few mushrooms. Gently remove them from the mold, then brush some wood glue on the door and windows, then stick them into the surface of the painted pot. Attach the small pebbles all around the spaces using hot glue, then use a craft knife, toothpick, or anything sharp or pointed to slice and create details onto the clay windows and door.

Step 2

Grab the mini mushroom clays, then brush some wood glue on them before attaching them at the bottom on both sides of the door. Start painting the door and windows black, then the inner of the windows white. Once the paint dries out, add a layer of brown paint on the windows as well as the door. Then paint the mushrooms red or orange. Paint the rim of the pot with black paint, then after it dries out, add a layer of brown paint using a sponge. Hot glue some fake moss and grass all over the pot in random places.
