Place one garlic clove in the microwave and let it heat for about 20 seconds.

Open the microwave and let the garlic cool before handling.

Transfer the garlic to the counter and peel off all the skin.

Pros: It is a little quicker to peel and there is no extra mess.

Cons: Microwaving steams or cooks the garlic and is not much quicker than just peeling it.

Remove the primary skin of the garlic and separate each clove.

Place them in a bowl and soak them with hot water.

Let it soak for 10 minutes.

Then, whisk to loosen the peels.
