This quilt is made up of half-square triangles and the process of piecing them together isn’t that complicated, so you don’t need to worry about messing this up. Just follow the step-by-step guide below and you’ll be good. Learn how now.
Step 1
For 2 blocks, cut 2 squares at 4×4 inches in 8 different rainbow colors for a total of 16 squares, then cut 8 squares at 4×4 in white fabric, and 8 squares at 3½ inches in white.
Step 2
Pair each of the 8 color squares with a white square, then draw a diagonal line at the back of the white square from corner to corner, and sew on each side of the line with ¼ inch seam allowance.
Step 3
Cut along the line, then press the seams open, and trim the block to 3½ inches. Now, pair the leftover squares together and make half-square triangles out of them, then arrange them as shown in the video, and start stitching them together making sure to press the seams as you go.
Step 4
Make a second block with the leftover pieces, first, pair the colored squares together and turn them into half-square triangles, then trim them to 3½ inches, and make another set of half-square triangles with the print and white squares.
Step 5
Arrange the half-square triangles together to form a diamond shape at the center, then stitch them together one at a time, and press them as you go. Continue to make more blocks, then assemble the blocks however you want, and stitch them together.
