These homemade tuna pies from TheCooknShare on Youtube are so delicious; you’ll absolutely fall in love with them! What’s more, they’re super easy to make and won’t require a lot of ingredients to make (you can even switch out some of the ingredients according to your preference). Watch the video below to learn the step by step instructions.

  • 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp of unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup of corn
  • 1/2 cup of frozen peas
  • 2 tbsp of flour
  • 2 cans of tuna, drained
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup of grated cheese
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • egg wash
  • puff pastry, thawed

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F. Next, melt 2 tbsp of unsalted butter, then add 1 chopped onion and 3 cloves of chopped garlic. Saute until fragrant. After this, add 2 tbsp all-purpose flour, stir for about two minutes, then add 1 cup of milk (half a time). Stir until creamy consistency. Once achieved the right creaminess, turn off the heat, then add 2 cans of tuna, 1/2 cup of corn, 1/2 cup of frozen peas, and 1/2 cup of grated cheese. Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste and mix everything gently to combine. Let it cool down while you work on the pastry.

Step 2

Next, flour your working surface as well as your rolling pin. Lay the puff pastry and start rolling it out. After this, place your puff pastry on a board and cut it into three even pieces. Now, scoop up some of the tuna pie mixture and place it on one end of the puff pastry. Take one end and fold it over the other. After this, grab a fork and pinch the edges using it. Repeat this step with the remaining puff pastry. Once done, transfer the tuna pies to your baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush each pie with some egg wash, then place them in the preheated 400 F degrees F oven and bake them for 15 to 20 minutes.
