Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, whip the egg whites and cream of tartar together until foamy, then add in about half a cup of sugar gradually, and continue whipping until stiff peaks form. Set the mixture aside. Grab a separate mixing bowl, then sift the flour, baking powder, and cornstarch together. Mix them until well combined, and set them aside as well. In another separate bowl, add the egg yolks, half a cup of sugar, and vanilla, then mix them together until thick and pale. Add in some pink food coloring, then mix in the flour in two batches until well combined, making sure not to overmix. Add about a quarter portion of the egg whites and mix it in with the yolk until well combined. Gently fold the egg yolk mixture and egg whites mixture together until well combined. Pour the batter into a lined and greased 8*8 inches cake pan, then spread it evenly. Bake it in a preheated oven at 320°F for 20 minutes until cooked through. Let cool down slightly in the pan, then unmold it on a wire rack. Once cooled completely, cut the cake into 2 layers.

Step 2
Soak the gelatin sheets in cold water for about 5-10 minutes or follow your gelatine packaging instructions. Proceed to whip the whipping cream and vanilla together until medium peaks form. Place gelatine mix and powdered sugar into whipping cream and whip until firm and medium-stiff peaks form. Spread a thin layer of whipping cream mix on top of one cake layer, then place whole strawberries on top in a cross shape. The place where you put strawberries is where you will cut the cake. Cover strawberries with the whipped cream mixture including the gaps. Place the second cake layer on top, then wrap plastic around the cake, and put it in the refrigerator for at least 90 minutes before slicing it. Trim the edges, then slice the cake into 4 squares, and then divide each square into 2 triangles.
