Are you tired of your peanut butter spread and want to try something new? Then you might love this apple butter recipe by OnePotChefShow on YouTube! You can put this over ice cream, cake, pudding, scones, pancakes, toast, and sandwiches. You can make about 3 standard-sized jars filled with this yummy apple spread.
Step 1
First off, make sure to wash the apples so that no dirt could go into your cooking, then peel off their skin, remove the core, and chop them into small even-sized cubes. Place the diced apples in a slow cooker, then add the salt, cinnamon sticks, and water, put the lid on, and let it cook for about 4 hours on a high setting or 8 hours on a low setting. Make sure to stop cooking halfway, then give the apples a good stir, put the lid back on, and allow it to continue cooking.

Step 2
Once done cooking, remove the cinnamon sticks, and emulsify until smooth. Add the ground cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and tightly packed brown sugar, then use a spoon to stir them together until well combined and incorporated, pop the lid back on, and let it cook again for about 3 hours at a high setting or 6 hours at a low setting. Make sure to stir it halfway through the cooking time to not burn and it from sticking to the pot. Transfer in jars, then place on the counter with the lids off and let cool completely. Store them in the fridge for up to 14 days.
