This yummy treat by Divas Can Cook on YouTube is loaded with gooey chocolate goodness that you won’t be able to resist for sure! It’s so easy to put together and uses only about seven to nine ingredients that you may already have available in your kitchen.

Ingredients:

  • 1½ cups self-rising flour
  • 1½ cups granulated sugar, divided
  • 7 tablespoons dark unsweetened cocoa powder, divided
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • 8 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract, optional
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1½ cup very hot water
  • Vanilla ice cream topping, optional

Directions:

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F, then grease the bottom as well as the sides of an 8*8″ oven-safe glass baking dish with butter or shortening and set it aside. In a large mixing bowl, whisk or sift together 1 cup granulated sugar, and 3 tablespoons cocoa powder, then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract, and stir them all together until well combined. Pour the batter into the greased pan, then spread it until nice and even.

Step 2

Next, in a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the remaining granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cocoa powder, then whisk them all together until well combined and uniform. Sprinkle the chocolate powder mixture evenly over the batter, then carefully pour the hot water over the chocolate powder mixture evenly making sure not to stir. Carefully place it on top of a cookie sheet, then put it in the preheated oven, and let it bake at 350°F for about 40 to 45 minutes. Once done baking, remove it from the oven, then let it sit for about 15 to 20 minutes, spoon it into bowls, and top it with vanilla ice cream.
