These delicious caramel bars are the perfect treat to eat after a heavy and savory meal. It has the right amount of sweetness and creaminess, and the texture is slightly chewy. Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 4 egg yolks and 1 whole egg, room temperature
  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup powdered milk
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ cup chopped cashew nuts

Directions:

Step 1

Soften a cup of butter, then transfer it to a mixing bowl, and whisk it around to break it apart and smoothen. Next, add the sugar, then whisk and cream them together until light and fluffy, add the yolks and a whole egg, and mix them together until incorporated. Whisk in the condensed milk until well combined, then sift over the all-purpose flour, powdered milk, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, and fold them together until smooth and incorporated.

Step 2

Grease an 11 by 11 inches square pan with non-stick spray, then line it with parchment paper and pour the batter. Spread it out until nice and even, then sprinkle the chopped cashew nuts all over the top of the batter and lightly tap it on the surface once to make sure that there are no air bubbles inside. Put it in the preheated oven and let it bake at 180°C or 350°F for about 30 to 35 minutes. Once done baking, let it cool completely before slicing, then serve, and enjoy!
