This recipe by Ray Mack’s Kitchen and Grill on YouTube is one of the best sub rolls recipes you’ll ever taste! The rolls are covered in butter, then seasoned to perfection, and loaded with flavorful meatballs in pasta sauce. The sub rolls are then topped with lots of cheese and cooked in the oven until the rolls are lightly roasted and the cheeses melted. Sounds delicious? It tastes even more delicious, try it out now!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of Carano spicy Sicilian meatballs
  • 1 pack of Carando Abruzzese meatballs
  • Olive oil
  • 1 whole or half an onion
  • ½ jar of Bertolli five cheese pasta sauce
  • ½ jar of Bertolli Italian sausage pasta sauce
  • Garlic powder
  • Garlic pepper seasoning
  • Red onion powder
  • Weber garlic jalapeno seasoning
  • Parsley
  • Kosher salt

Cheese mixture

  • Colby & Monterey jack cheese
  • Pepperjack cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese

Garlic buttery sub rolls

  • 2 large French sub rolls
  • Melted butter
  • Garlic salt parsley seasoning

Directions:

Step 1

Place a cast iron skillet pan on a stove over medium-high heat, then heat up some olive oil, and add the meatballs followed by the chopped onions. Give them a good toss, then cook until nice and brown before adding the pasta sauces, and mix them together until well combined. Season it with garlic powder, garlic pepper seasoning, red onion powder, garlic jalapeno seasoning, parsley, and salt. Give them a good mix to combine, then taste the sauce, and adjust the flavor to your preference.

Step 2

Slice the sub rolls in half to make a pocket but do not cut all the way through, then slice the rolls in half, and coat them with melted butter and garlic salt parsley seasoning. Mix the 3 kinds of cheese together in a mixing bowl, then spread some meatball sauce on one inner side of the rolls, and sprinkle some parmesan cheese. Add the meatballs to the sub roll, then sprinkle more parmesan cheese, add more meatball sauce on top of the subs, put lots of cheese, and sprinkle garlic pepper seasoning and parsley on top of the cheese. Put it in the oven, then let it cook at 350 degrees for about 12 to 15 minutes, serve, and enjoy!
