I’ve always preferred baked donuts to fried ones because they are more fun and easy to chew on, and they make any flavor taste so good. One of my favorite flavors of donuts is the classic chocolate with some sprinkles or chocolate toppings.

I’m so glad that I found this recipe by Divas Can Cook on YouTube because it is so simple and the steps are very easy to follow that I managed to make the donuts perfectly on my first try! I have tried this recipe a couple of times now and have made them in different flavors and toppings already.
Chocolate Donut
Chocolate Ganache Glaze
Toppings
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 325°F, then grease a donut pan with nonstick cooking spray, and set it aside. In a large mixing bowl, add the flour, baking soda, salt, unsweetened cocoa powder, and brown sugar, then whisk everything until well combined, and set it aside.
Step 2
In a separate bowl, add the buttermilk, coffee, egg, and vanilla extract, then whisk them until incorporated, and pour it into the flour mixture. Gently stir them just until combined, then add the butter, and continue to stir just until combined making sure not to overmix.
Step 3
Scoop the batter over the greased donut pan filling each cup about ¾ full, then place them in the preheated oven, and allow them to bake for about 6 to 7 minutes. Let the donuts cool on the counter for a few minutes, then remove each donut from the pan, and place them in a wire cooling rack to finish cooling.
Step 4
While waiting for the donuts to cool, prepare the vanilla in a mixing bowl, simply stir together the powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth and thick consistency, and then set it aside. For the chocolate ganache, place a small saucepan on a stove over medium heat, then heat the heavy whipping cream, and allow it to simmer lightly.
Step 5
Turn off the heat and remove the saucepan from the stove, then add the chocolate chips, and give them a good stir until melted. Let the ganache cool down, then spread it over the cooled donuts, and let it set for a few minutes. Drizzle the prepared vanilla glaze over the donuts, then add some toppings or sprinkles, and let them set. Serve and enjoy!
