Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of butter, softened (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:

Step 1

Add 1 cup of softened butter in a bowl followed by 1 cup of powdered sugar. Mix it on high speed using a handheld mixer until smooth and creamy. (About two minutes.) Add two egg yolks one at a time, mixing after each addition. Next, add 1 tsp vanilla extract and continue mixing until incorporated. After this, add 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1/2 tsp salt. Mix again until dough forms. After the dough forms, cover the bowl and refrigerate for 20 to 30 minutes. After chilling the dough, form little dough balls about 1 inch in size. (Make sure there are no cracks in the ball.) Place the balls with space in between in a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Once you’ve placed all the dough balls, gently press at the center of each to create small cavities. (Make sure the balls do not crack while doing this.)

Step 2

After pressing the cookies, place them in a preheated oven at 375 degrees F and bake for eight minutes. Meanwhile, take any jam you prefer and put three to four tbsp of it in a bowl. Mix it with a spoon to loosen it up, then set it aside. After eight minutes, remove the cookies from the oven. If the cavities look shallow, you can press them a little more using the back of a measuring spoon. Now, fill each hole with jam, making sure not to overfill them. Place them again in the oven for three to four minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
