Searching for an easy pattern that is sure to impress? Look no further than this easy star quilt pattern! Masi Diy‘s video tutorial instantly caught my attention the first time I saw it. The block is a simple star with a four-patch in the center and a two-point star tip in each corner. If you place the blocks together, a secondary star block is formed, which I find absolutely beautiful.

You get two different star patterns in just one block. How cool is that? It is a simple quilt project and not as complex as it may seem. The main star consists of four-patch and half-square triangle blocks, while the secondary star is composed of square and half-square triangles. Be sure to save this pattern for later.

Place the background 5-inch square on top of the light 5-inch square. Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner, then sew 1/4″ away on either side of the line. Repeat with the other background and dark-colored 5-inch squares. Cut directly on the line, then press each one open toward the dark side. Trim off corners.
Arrange 2 light and 2 dark 2 1/2″ squares like a four patch, alternating the colors. Sew them together. Trim off excess.
Take 2 dark and 2 light 2 1/2″ squares and place a 2 1/2″ background square on top of each one. Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on each pair. Sew directly on the lines, trim off the excess, then press each one open.
Trim the remaining 2 1/2″ squares, colored and background, the same size as the small half-square triangles.
Arrange all the pieces just like in the photo below. Sew them in rows first. Set the seams, then press them flat. Next, sew the rows together to make the block.
