Love noodles and spicy food? If you do, give this easy spicy spaghetti pasta recipe by Break the Spice a try. Although it looks like an ordinary tomato spaghetti, it does not contain any tomatoes. It is actually an olive oil-based pasta; the red chili flakes give it a beautiful bright orange color.

You only need basic ingredients to make this recipe–pasta noodles, onion, garlic, red chili flakes, olive oil, dried oregano, and salt. It’s simple, yet packed with amazing flavors. Plus, it’s easy to make and affordable. Give this pasta recipe a try. You’ll surely be surprised how good this dish is.
Fill a pot with water and place over heat. Add 1 tablespoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of oregano. Once boiling, add the pasta and cook until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
Make the sauce. Place a pan over medium-low heat and add 3 tablespoons of olive oil.
Add the minced onions and cook until golden. Make sure to stir it frequently to avoid burning. Add the minced garlic and fry for 30 seconds.
Add the chili flakes and fry for 30 seconds. Get 2 teaspoons of the chili onion crisp and set aside for later. If the pasta is not yet cooked by now, take the sauce off the flame.
Transfer the drained pasta into the same pan as the sauce and 1/2 cup of reserved pasta water. Stir on medium flame until the sauce thickened.
Serve on a plate. Garnish with the reserved chili onion crisp, fresh parsley, and grated cheese. Enjoy!
