Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup of honey
  • ½ cup of packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup of ketchup
  • 2 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp of chili paste
  • 1 tsp of kosher salt
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 3 pounds of chicken wings or drumettes

Directions:

Step 1

In a slow cooker, add the brown sugar, honey, ketchup, soy sauce, chili paste, salt, and garlic, then stir them all together using a large spoon until combined. Add the chicken wings or drumettes, then give them a good stir until well coated, and cover the slow cooker with the lid. Let the chicken cook on a high setting for about 1 to 2 hours or on a low setting for about 2½ to 3 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through and it has reached an internal temperature of 165°F. Once done cooking, transfer the chicken into a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, then spread them out in a single layer, and set it aside. In a medium-sized saucepan, pour the sauce from the slow cooker, then place the saucepan on a stove over medium-high heat, and bring it to a boil.

Step 2

Let the sauce cook for about 7 to 10 minutes or until thickened while stirring occasionally, then once cooked, brush the sauce onto the chicken on the baking sheet, and put the chicken inside the oven to broil for about 2 to 3 minutes or until the sauce starts to caramelize. Make sure to keep an eye on the chicken as it may easily burn because of the sauce. After broiling the chicken, take it out of the oven, then brush the chicken pieces over with more sauce, and let them broil for an additional 1 minute. Repeat brushing with more sauce and broil for another minute, then transfer the chicken pieces to a large serving plate or bowl, serve, and enjoy!
