The slow cooker is one of the best appliances ever invented because it makes preparing dinner so much easier and convenient, especially during those busy days, or when you just don’t feel like cooking at all but still have to for your mealtime.

There are also a lot of slow cooker recipes that you can find online and almost all of them are so delicious that you’d just want to make them every day. One of those amazing recipes that you can try is this one by Soul Food Cooking on YouTube, it’s so tasty and effortless to make.
Step 1
Turn your pot to the browning setting, then add the butter, and let it melt (you can also do this step in the skillet). Add the onion and garlic, then saute them for about 3 minutes or until translucent and fragrant, and then change the slow cooker’s setting to slow cook on high.
Step 2
Add the ham hocks and half of the collard greens, then pour in the chicken broth and water, and season them with red pepper flakes, black pepper, and salt.
Step 3
Cover the pot, then let them cook until the veggies are wilted, and then add in the remaining collard greens. Allow them to continue cooking for 3.5 hours or until desired tenderness, then pour in the vinegar, and give them a good mix. Serve and enjoy!
