Step 2
For block #2, cut the white print fabric into 2 strips at 2.5 x 10.5 inches, 2 strips at 2.5 x 6.5 inches, and 1 square at 2.5 inches, then cut the black print fabric into 2 strips at 2.5 6.5 inches and 2 squares at 2.5 inches and set them aside.
Step 3
Start making block #1, gather the fabric pieces for this block, then place the small black square at the center, and place a white square on each side. Place the white strip on the top and bottom, then put the shorter black strips on each side, and lay the long black strips on the top and bottom.
Step 4
Stitch them one at a time starting from the inner pieces and work your way out, then press the seams as you go, and set the block aside. To make block #2, follow the layout process of block #1 only this time swap the colors.
Step 5
Stitch them together and make sure to press the seams nicely. Now, cut both blocks in half diagonally, then swap the pieces, and stitch them into a block. Give them a good press and you’re done!
