My Mom used to make meatballs with gravy for me and my siblings when we were still kids and we would always eat it deliciously up until the plates are all clean. As an adult, I would crave them from time to time, and although my Mom would make them if I asked, I wanted to try and make them myself. I found this recipe by The Stay At Home Chef on YouTube and immediately thought that it looked absolutely mouth-watering and that I had to try it. I wasn’t disappointed with the result, even my Mom and siblings were impressed!
Meatballs
Gravy
Step 1
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the ground beef, ground pork sausage, bread crumbs, and egg. Then, season them with Worcestershire sauce, allspice, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Mix them all together until well combined and they stick together. Scoop them out and form 1-inch meatballs, then set them aside on a plate. Place a large skillet pan on a stove over medium-high heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil and let it heat up before you start cooking the meatballs. Once the oil is hot, fry the meatballs in batches to not overcrowd them in the pan, then turn them around occasionally to keep their shape round and browned on all sides. Once cooked and evenly browned, remove the meatballs from the pan, and place them on top of a plate lined with paper towels to drain off any excess oil.

Step 2
Using the same skillet pan and leftover grease, melt the butter, then add the flour, nutmeg, and allspice. Whisk them together until well combined and it forms into a thick paste. Pour in the beef broth slowly, then add 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, give them a good stir, and let them cook over medium-high heat until it thickens. Season them with salt and pepper to taste, then add the sour cream, and stir them until well combined. Put the meatballs back into the skillet, then stir them in the gravy until well coated. Serve while hot along with mashed potatoes or cooked egg noodles. Garnish with some freshly chopped parsley.
