Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, add the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, tomato paste, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, apple cider vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper, then mix them all together until well combined and incorporated, and form it into four patties evenly. Lightly press the center to make an indent and help the steak cook evenly, then set them aside. Place a large skillet on a stove over medium-high heat, then heat up the olive oil, and sear the steak until both sides are nice and brown. Transfer the steaks to a plate, then set them aside for later, and reduce the heat of your stove to medium. In the same pan, add the butter, then let it melt as you scrape the bottom, and once melted, add the onion.

Step 2
Give them a good toss and cook until soft and translucent, then add the mushrooms, and let them cook until golden brown while stirring consistently. Sprinkle the pan with flour and stir them together until absorbed, then let them cook for 30 more seconds, and add the tomato paste cooking them for at least 1 minute while stirring continuously. While stirring, slowly pour the broth, then scrape the pan, and add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Give them a good stir, then place the cooked steak back into the pan, and continue to cook them until the middle reaches 160°F in temperature and the gravy has thickened.
