Make your family dinner ten times better with this delicious and mouth-watering side dish recipe by Break the Spice on YouTube! These tasty skillet-fried mushrooms go well with just about any dish that you can think of. They are super easy to prepare and use a few simple ingredients that you can find easily in the nearest grocery store.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of mushrooms, button, cremini, or portobello
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • 1½ tbsp of unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil
  • Parsley, or any of your favorite herb

Sauce

  • 1 tbsp of light or regular soy sauce
  • 1 tsp of lime or lemon juice
  • Garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup of water

Directions:

Step 1

The first thing that you have to do is to clean all of the mushrooms by wiping off the dirt using a kitchen towel, then give it a quick rinse, and wipe away the excess water immediately to avoid them from becoming soggy. Chop off the stalk, then mince the garlic and herbs, and set them aside. In a small mixing bowl, add the soy sauce, garlic, butter, olive oil, and parsley, then mix them all together, and set them aside. Place a large and heavy-bottomed pan on a stove over high heat, then add the olive oil, and let it heat up before adding the mushrooms.

Step 2

Make sure to spread the mushrooms in a single layer, then let them cook for about 1 to 2 minutes on each side until nice and brown. Once all sides are nice and golden, reduce the heat setting to low, and pour in the prepared sauce. Increase the heat to medium, then let the sauce reduce, and stir the mushrooms to coat. Once reduced, add the butter, then give them a good mix, and sprinkle the chopped herb all over the top before turning off the heat. Remove the pan from the stove, then serve the mushrooms on the side of grilled meat, veggies, toast, omelet, or any of your favorite dishes, and enjoy!
