Sometimes I struggle with preparing food because I get so busy or tired that I just don’t have enough energy left to cook, that’s why I always opt for recipes that are very easy and convenient to make, and oftentimes do not require a lot of ingredients. But, when choosing the right recipe it must be still delicious despite how simple it actually is, and a good example of this is this skillet cowboy pie by TheWolfePit on YouTube.

This recipe is very easy and quick to make, and it’s budget-friendly, too, which makes this the perfect dish to share with your family over dinner. If you want to save more money, then you can use leftover ingredients and swap the sausages with ham, cooked bacon, or ground beef that you may already have available in your fridge.
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 400°F. Place a skillet on a stove over medium-high heat, then add the butter, and spread it around to coat the pan as it melts.
Step 2
Add the sliced sausage to the pan, then cook them for a few minutes, add the chopped onions and bell peppers, and give them a good toss.
Step 3
Season them with salt and pepper to taste, then saute them over medium heat for about 5 minutes, and add in the beans.
Step 4
Mix everything well until well combined, then spread on the skillet evenly, and smoothen the surface.
Step 5
Add the mashed potatoes evenly over the mixture, then sprinkle some more black pepper to taste, and spread the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
Step 6
Place the skillet in the preheated oven, then let it bake for about 20 minutes until the cheese has melted and it’s golden brown and bubbly. Serve and enjoy!
