This recipe by RecipeTin Eats on YouTube is one of my go-to and all-time favorite dishes to make. It’s super easy and quick to prepare and is the perfect meal to make using leftover bread and turkey or chicken. After Thanksgiving, if you have some leftover turkey in your fridge, then consider making this loaded skillet dish.

Garlic Bread Topping
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F, then stir together the melted butter and garlic to combine, add the bread chunks to a large bowl, and pour in the butter mixture. Toss everything together until well coated and then set it aside. Place an oven-proof skillet on a stove over high heat, then heat the oil before adding the mushrooms, and saute them for about 4 minutes or until nice and brown.
Step 2
Remove the mushrooms and set them aside, then lower the heat to medium-high, and in the same pan, melt the butter. Add the onion and garlic, then saute and cook them for 2 minutes before adding the carrots, and cook for 1 more minute. Add the flour, then stir and cook for a minute until the flour taste is gone, pour in half the milk while stirring continuously until the paste has dissolved and incorporated into the liquid.

Step 3
Pour in the remaining milk, then keep stirring, add the stock powder, salt, and pepper, and give them a good stir until combined. Cook the sauce for about 2 to 3 more minutes while stirring consistently, then once thick and bubbling, turn off the heat, add the turkey, peas, and mushrooms, and give them a good mix until combined.
Step 4
Put the prepared bread pieces on top until covered, then add the grated parmesan over the bread, and top them with mozzarella cheese or any other melting cheese. Place the pan on the preheated oven, then let it bake for about 12 to 15 minutes or until the cheese is lightly browned. Loosely cover the top with foil so it doesn’t stick to the cheese, then put it back in the oven, and let it bake for another 10 minutes. Sprinkle it with more parmesan on top, then serve, and enjoy!
