This delicious and cheesy broccoli recipe by TERRI-ANN’S KITCHEN on YouTube is so simple and quick to prepare. It is perfect if you’re in a hurry or it’s simply a busy day and you don’t have the time to cook something grand. You can serve this as a side dish and it will definitely make your meal satisfying.
Step 1
Remove the large stalk off of the broccoli’s head, then cut it into florets, and make sure to remove any excess stems from each floret before cutting them in half. Place them in a large bowl or container, then sprinkle some baking soda, and add some water. Let them soak for about 5 minutes, then drain off all the water, and rinse them well with clean water. Place a pot or deep pan on a stove over medium to medium-high heat, then boil about 3 to 4 cups of water, and add some salt. Add the broccoli florets into the boiling water, then cover with the lid, and let it steam for about 1 minute. After steaming the florets, remove them from heat, then drain off all the water, and set them aside to cool down.

Step 2
Place a clean pot or deep pan on a stove over low to medium heat, then add the butter and flour, and whisk them together to make a roux. Cook them for about 2 to 3 minutes, then add the milk, and continue whisking until well combined. Next, season it with some salt, black pepper, and chili flakes to taste, then continue whisking until it thickens, and add the cheese. Keep on whisking and mixing the sauce until the cheese has melted and been incorporated, then set it aside. Now, put the pan or pot of broccoli on the stove, then season it with some all-purpose seasoning and garlic powder to taste, then give it a good stir, and add the cheese sauce all over the top, you can also add more chili flakes if you like. Top it with more cheese, then cover it with the lid, and let it cook for an additional 2 minutes over low heat until the cheese has melted.
