Ingredients for Root Beer Float Cake:

Cake

  • 1 box of white cake mix
  • 1¼ cups of root beer, any brand
  • 3 large eggs
  • ¼ cup of melted butter

Topping

  • 2 (2.6 oz each) packets of Dream Whip
  • 1 cup of root beer, any brand
  • 1 tbsp of vanilla extract
  • Canned whipped topping
  • 15 cherries, dried off

How to Make Root Beer Float Cake:

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F, then grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray, and set it aside. Add the cake mix, root beer, eggs, and butter in a large mixing bowl, then beat them together for about 2 minutes or until smooth, and transfer the batter into the prepared baking dish spreading it evenly.

Step 2

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven, then allow the cake to bake for about 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted at the center comes out clean and the sides are pulling away from the edges. Let the cake cool completely in the baking dish while preparing the topping.

Step 3

In a large bowl, add the Dream Whip, root beer, and vanilla extract, then beat them together until soft peaks form, and spread it over the cooled cake evenly. Dollop the canned whipped topping on top of the cake, then place a dried cherry on top of each dollop, and then slice the cake. Serve and enjoy!
