Step 1
Place a large pot on a stove over medium-high heat, then add a stick of butter, and allow it to melt completely. Add in the flour, then mix them continuously until the butter is fully absorbed, and cook it for a few minutes to remove the raw flour taste. Chop the dried beef into the desired pieces, then add them to the pot, and give them a good mix until well combined.

Cook them for a couple of minutes, then pour in the whole milk, and add in some half and half as well if you want a richer gravy, but you can skip this part and just add milk. Season them with salt and pepper to taste, then stir them all together, and keep on stirring every minute or so until it boils and thickens. Turn off the heat, then serve it over toast or bread, or eat it as soup, and enjoy!
