Ingredients:

  • 3 pounds rib eye steak
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 bell peppers, thinly sliced
  • 1 large yellow onion, sliced
  • 10 slices provolone
  • 15 mini hoagie rolls or dinner rolls
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:

Step 1

Place your steak in the refrigerator and freeze for about 20-30 minutes so that the meat will be easier to slice. After freezing the steak, take it out of the refrigerator and slice them very thinly. Place a large skillet pan on a stove over medium heat, then add in some oil and let it heat up. Add in the onions and bell peppers, season them with salt and pepper according to taste, then saute them until the onions are translucent the bell peppers are tender or for about 7 to 10 minutes. Push the veggies to one side of the pan, then add the meat to the other side. Let them sit for a minute, then proceed to sear both sides of the meat until they are mostly cooked through for about 5 more minutes.

Step 2

Once done, toss the meat and veggies together in the pan. Prepare a 9*13 baking dish and you can also spray it with a cooking spray if you want, otherwise proceed. Lay the mini rolls at the bottom, then lay the slices of provolone on top, and the steak mixture over them. Top them with more cheese, then place the other halves of the mini rolls on top. Brush the bread with melted butter, then cover the dish with aluminum foil, and bake it in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
