I’ve always wanted to try making my own pull-apart fruit pie but thought that they might be too difficult for me. Not until I saw this video tutorial by Scrumdiddlyumptious on YouTube which not only showed how to make this kind of pie super easy to make but also includes a tutorial for a homemade jam.

Ingredients:

Dough

  • 5 cups flour
  • 4 sticks butter, cubed
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • ¾ cup cold water

Peach jam

  • 10 ounces peaches
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp water

Blueberry jam

  • 10 ounces blueberries
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp water

Directions:

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, add the flour, butter, egg yolks, sugar, salt, and cold water, then mix them all together using your hands. Knead the dough until it forms into a large bowl, then wrap it with plastic wrap, and leave in the fridge to chill for about an hour. Place a saucepan on a stove over medium-high heat, then put the blueberries, sugar, and water, and bring it to a simmer for about 20 minutes while stirring constantly. If the jam is still too chunky after 20 minutes, puree it in a food processor. The jam should have a runny consistency, so let it simmer for a littler longer, and stir it regularly so that it doesn’t burn.

Step 2

Pour the jam into a glass jar and let it cool. Cut the peaches into small pieces, then turn it into a jam using the same process. Preheat your oven to 350°F, then start rolling out your dough, and cut out circles using a glass or a cookie cutter. Gently fold the dough circlesm then press both ends together to form a small pocket. Fill each pocket with the homemade jam alternately, then lay the pockets in a round soringform pan lined with parchment paper. Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 40 minutes.
