At first glance, you’d think that this quilt is very complicated and challenging to make, especially if you’re a beginner, but once you’ve learned how to piece this quilt, you’d be surprised to know that this is actually very easy to do. What makes this even better is that it only requires a jelly roll to make, convenient, colorful, and fun. Check out this video tutorial by Revelation Quilts on YouTube and see for yourself!
Step 1
Pick 4 jelly strips and alternate the dark and light colors, then sew them together, and press the seams toward the darker fabric. Trim the edges straight, then cut the strip unit into squares at 8 inches, turn the squares so that they look diamond-shaped, and line them up diagonally from corner to corner. Cut an inch away on both sides of the center line, then take the center strip, and flip it around to make the disappearing part.

Step 2
You can also mix and match the center strip with other strip units that you’ve made to make the colors pop even more, then once done laying out the block with the center strip that you want, sew them together with the seams nested nicely as demonstrated in the video, and then press them open as you go. Trim the block into a nice 7-inch square, then assemble 4 of these blocks together, and stitch them together making sure to press them open every now and then.
