It is once again starting to feel humid and the heat is becoming persistent, it is sometimes uncomfortable, and the best way to beat the heat is by serving a delicious and refreshing cold treat like this recipe by Hands Touch on YouTube! This yummy ice cream calls for a fresh orange along with a few other simple ingredients that you may already have in your kitchen. This is super easy to prepare and more flavorful than store-bought ice creams. Hope you love this recipe as much as I did!
Step 1
Slice the orange into wedges, then squeeze the juice out in a measuring cup or bowl, you need about 3 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon. Place a saucepan on a stove over medium heat, then add the milk and sugar, and stir them together to combine. Bring them to a boil, then reduce the heat slightly, and keep on stirring the mixture until it has reduced by 1/3 and is bubbly. Turn off the heat, then let it cool completely, and keep on stirring until smooth and thick. Pour the orange juice into the milk mixture to avoid a curdled texture, then mix them together until well combined, and set it aside.

Step 2
In a mixing bowl, add the whipping cream, then beat it for about 30 seconds until frothy, and add the milk mixture to the whipped cream followed by the orange essence and orange food coloring. Beat them together until incorporated and soft peaks form, then transfer it to a baking dish and spread it evenly. Cover it with the lid, then place it in the freeze, and let it sit for about 8 to 10 minutes or until set and frozen. Scoop the ice cream into serving bowls, then serve, and enjoy!
