Ingredients for Classic Dinner Rolls:

  • ⅔ cups of milk, slightly warm
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup of sweetened condensed milk
  • ¼ cup of unsalted butter, melted
  • 1½ tsp of instant yeast
  • 2½ cups of bread or all-purpose flour
  • ¾ tsp of salt

For Brushing (optional)

  • 3 tbsp of salted butter
  • 1 tsp of grated garlic
  • 1 tbsp of parsley
  • Eggwash (1 egg + 1 tbsp of milk)

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, add the egg, condensed milk, melted butter, and instant yeast, then whisk everything together until combined, add the flour and salt, and fold them until incorporated and a dough forms. Knead the dough until smooth, then slap and fold for about 5 minutes, and press it down to flatten.

Step 2

Divide the dough into 12 equal parts, then let it rest for about 10 minutes, and roll each portion into a ball. Grease a 10-inch baking dish with butter, then place the dough balls, and set it aside covered for about 25 to 30 minutes.

Step 3

Brush the rolls with eggwash generously, then place them in an oven preheated at 180°C or 350°F, and bake for about 18 to 20 minutes or until lightly golden. Mix together the butter, garlic, and parsley, then brush them over the hot rolls, and serve. Enjoy!
