This yummy recipe by Chef Goguen is easiest and simplest way of preparing raisins pie but in my opinion is the most delicious one. You only need a few ingredietns to make this and if you’re not feleing like making a homemade pie crust then you can use store-bought, you are also free to add any twist that you’d like to this delicious treat.

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 375°F or 1906C, then grab a large bowl, and fill it iwth water. Wash about 2 cups of raisins in a strainer on top ofthe bowl and under runnign water. Fill a large pot wit h4 cups of water, then add the washed and drained raisins, cover, and bring to a boil. Add a cup of sugar, then give it a good stir, and let it cook for about an hour while stirring occassionally. Make the slurry in a small jar by mixing together 2 tablespoons of flour and 1 teaspoon of salt with half a cup of water, shake the jar until the slurry is well combined. Now, add a tablespoon of butter to the raisins mixture followed by a teaspoon of vanilla, then gradually stir in the slurry, and cook it until it has reached the desired thickness.

Step 2
In a large mixing bowl, add a cup of flour, a teaspoon of salt, and shortening, then mix them together, and add about 4 to 5 tabelspoons of cie cold water. Mix it togehter using your hands until it becomes dough, transfer the dough to a floured surface, then shape and flatten it until its wide enough to for a 9-inch pie plate. Place the crust on the greased pie plate, then pour the filling, and cover with the other flattened pie dough. Crimp the sides or press with fork, then remove the excess dough around the sides, and put it in the preheated oven. Let it bake at 375°F for about 30 to 45 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
