To make grasshopper pie, you need Oreo cookies, butter, cream cheese, condensed milk, whipped cream, vanilla extract, mint extract, and green food coloring. It is made out of two layers, crust and cream cheese filling. The crust is a mixture of Oreo cookies and melted butter, which gives a nice texture to the cake.

Grasshopper Pie Ingredients

  • 25 Oreo cookies
  • 4 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped cream
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of mint extract
  • green food coloring

How to Make Grasshopper Pie

Step 1:

Add Oreo cookies (with cream filling) to a food processor and blend into fine cookie crumbs. Alternatively, you can place them in a ziplock bag. Just remove the air out and seal. Use a rolling pin or any heavy object to crush the cookies. Pour the melted butter and mix until well combined.

Step 2:

Transfer the cookie crumbs to a 9″ pie plate and press down to a 9″ pie plate to form the crust. Chill for 30 minutes.

Step 3:

Make the pie filling. In a large mixing bowl, add cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk. Combine using an electric hand mixer. Next, add vanilla extract, mint extract, and 10 drops of green food coloring. Mix until smooth.

Step 4:

Fold in whipped cream into the mixture with a rubber spatula until smooth. If you want it to be darker, add a drop or two of food coloring at a time.

Step 5:

Pour the pie filling into the crust and spread out evenly. Decorate the top of the pie with more cookies. Chill in the refrigerator for 6 to 8 hours before serving.
