Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of self-rising flour
  • 1 cup of buttermilk
  • ¼ cup of oil

Directions:

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, add the flour, milk, and oil, then stir them all together until well combined, and dust your counter with flour before transferring the dough. Dust more flour on top of the dough, then divide it into 8 pieces evenly and shape each into smooth balls. Place a cast-iron skillet pan on a stove over low heat, then allow the pan to preheat while letting the dough sit and rise for a few minutes.

Step 2

Once the dough balls are done resting, place them around the sides of the skillet pan 4 pieces at a time so as to not overcrowd them, then make sure not to place them near the center to prevent them from getting into direct heat, and let them cook for about 5 minutes. Flip the bread, then cook for 5 more minutes or until nice and brown, and cook the rest of the bread. Serve and enjoy!
