  • 1 cup of walnut, divided
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • ½ tsp of baking soda
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1½ cup of light brown sugar
  • eggs
  • 2 tbsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of white chocolate chips

Syrup

  • 1/3 cup of maple syrup
  • 6 tbsp of butter
  • ½ cup of walnuts
  • ¼ cup of heavy cream
  • Vanilla ice cream

How to Make Maple Butter Blondie:

Step 1

In a food processor, add half a cup of walnuts, then process them until almost fine, and set it aside. In a large mixing bowl, add the flour, baking soda, salt, and walnut crumbs, then whisk everything until evenly combined, and set it aside. In a separate bowl, beat the butter until smooth and creamy, then scrape down the sides before adding the brown sugar, and continue to beat over medium speed until fluffy and combined. Add the eggs one at a time, then continue to beat in between each addition until incorporated, and make sure to scrape the sides now and then.

Step 2

Beat in the vanilla extract until combined, then gradually add the flour mixture while beating consistently, add the white chocolate chips, and fold them in until incorporated. Add the remaining half a cup of walnuts, then continue to fold until evenly distributed, and pour it into a baking dish lined with aluminum foil and greased with butter. Spread the batter evenly, then place it in a preheated oven at 350°F, and allow it to bake for about 30 minutes.

Step 3

Once done baking, lift it out of the baking dish and transfer it to a wire cooling rack, in a saucepan over medium heat, add the unsalted butter and maple syrup, and heat them for about 6 minutes or until bubbly and thickened. Stir the mixture occasionally, then pour in the heavy cream, and keep stirring until incorporated and caramelized. Take it off the heat, then prepare a hot iron skillet, and place the blondie on it. Put a scoop of ice cream on top, then drizzle the caramel sauce, and sprinkle more walnuts all over it. Serve and enjoy!
