But instead of serving the usual hot dogs, take them to the next level by topping them with delicious chili! Learn how to make these yummy chili cheese dogs now with this recipe by Catherine’s Plates on YouTube.
Step 1
Place a large skillet or Dutch oven on a stove over medium-high heat, then add the olive oil, and heat it before adding in the diced celery. Give them a good stir and saute for a few seconds before adding the onions, then saute for an additional 2 minutes, add the garlic, and continue to saute for 30 more seconds. Add the ground beef, then break them apart, and cook them until nicely brown and cooked through.
Step 2
Add the sugar, mustard, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and cumin, then mix everything well until combined, then add the tomato paste, diced tomatoes, and water, and then continue to stir until combined. Bring it to a simmer for about 30 minutes over low heat uncovered, then blend it with a stick blender until thin, and serve over hot dog and buns topped and top them with cheese. Enjoy!
