My family loves a good and yummy fruit jam to spread on toast for breakfast and I also love to use them in baking just as much. This is why I always make sure to keep a stock of homemade jam ready in my fridge so that I have them available whenever I need them. I prefer making them at home rather than using store-bought ones because I find them more delicious and flavorful that way. Preparing them is super easy and quick, plus, all you will be needing is 3 simple ingredients that you may already have in your kitchen, and if not, then don’t worry because they are very easy to find in the nearest store. You can use this recipe by The Sweetest Journey on YouTube to make your own version of blueberry jam. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups or 340 grams of blueberries
  • ¼ cup or 80ml of water
  • 1 cup or 190 grams of sugar

In a saucepan, add the blueberries, then mash them nicely, and add the water before placing the saucepan on a stove over medium heat. Let it heat up and bring it to a simmer while stirring occasionally until the berries are soft and crushed. Once done cooking the blueberries and at a rolling boil, add the sugar, then give them a good stir, and lower the heat setting to medium-low. Continue to cook the jam while boiling and stirring consistently, then after 20 minutes or once the jam is thick and dark, turn off the heat, and remove the saucepan from the stove. Sterilize the canning jars, then transfer the jam in the jars dividing them evenly, and seal them nicely.
