From this video tutorial, you will learn quick and easy tips to insulate your home for the Winter.
#1: Secure Doors and Windows
Closing your doors and windows can help keep the warmth in your room. However, it would depend on how good your exterior insulation is. If your window is good at keeping out the cold, then it’s best to leave it open during the day to let the sun in and spread warmth in your room. If not, then it would be better to hang thick curtains to prevent the cold from entering through the window.
#2: Fill in the Gaps
As stated above, if your windows or doors don’t have good insulation, then closing them is not enough. You should also check for gaps or holes around your house where the cold could pass through and then fill those gaps or holes securely to prevent the heat from escaping your home.
#3: Cover your Floor with a Rug
Using a rug on your flooring can also help a lot in reducing heat loss and make it more comfortable for your feet to rest on. Floors can accumulate most of the cold temperature which can seep into your feet even though you’re wearing slippers, so a rug can provide an extra layer of protection and warmth.
