If you want your cookies to be a sure hit on your party, then add a fun design to them, so that they are appealing to both kids and adults alike. Here are design ideas by The Graceful Baker on YouTube that even beginners in cookie decorating can surely make perfectly. Learn them here and choose which ones you like best!
#1: Mummy
Drizzle white icing on the middle of the cookie, then spread it roughly all over up to the sides, and squeeze green for the eyes. Top the green with black making sure it’s a bit offset on the side, then add a small dot of white, and add random lines all over the cookie making sure to avoid the eyes.
#2: Frankenstein
Line the cookie with green on the edges, then fill the inside with green, and smooth it out. Let it set, then draw the hair with black icing, and draw the eyes and mouth with black as well. Add a white dot on the eyes, and then draw black stitches on the cheek.
#3: Spider web
Line the sides with white, then fill the space, and smooth it out. Add a black dot in the center, then add a circle around the dot, and keep adding more circles after the previous one. Using a pointed tool or stick, drag the icing on the center toward the side as shown in the video, and keep repeating the same steps until it resembles a spider’s web.

#4: Jack-o’-lantern
Spread black icing on the upper part of the cookie, then outline 3 triangles for the eyes and nose using orange icing, and draw the mouth using orange icing as well. Now, fill the spaces with orange making sure not to fill the outlined eyes, nose, and mouth, and you’re done.
#5: Cauldron
Line the cookie in half with black icing, then fill the lower space, and smooth it out. Add dots of green on the sides of the upper part, then fill the center, and add a few more dots of different sizes. Add smaller dots using orange and white icing, then let it set, and gently press down on the bubbles to crack them.
#6: Jack Skellington
Spread black icing on the upper part of the cookie, then outline the eyes with white icing, and fill the spaces with more white icing making sure to avoid the outline of the eyes. Smoothen the icing, then let it set, and draw the mouth and nose with black icing.
#7: Swirl
Outline the sides of the cookie with orange icing, then fill the spaces, and smooth it out. Add a swirl of white icing as shown in the video and you’re done!
