This yummy recipe by Cooktoria on YouTube might even be better than steak! Who knew that portobello mushrooms can be this tasty? You only need a few ingredients to prepare this, some of it you can substitute with something else or with seasonings that you may already have available in your kitchen.

Ingredients:

  • 4 large portobello mushrooms
  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp sriracha
  • ⅓ tsp salt or to taste

Directions:

Step 1

First thing you have to do is to make sure that the portobellos are thoroughly washed and cleaned, then pat them dry with paper towels. Chop off the stems as well as the uneven edges around the cap, then grab a fork, and start poking the mushrooms all around and underneath the cap. Set them aside as you prepare the sauce mixture. Grab a small or medium-siozed mixing bowl, then mix together the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and sriracha. Stir them all together until well combined and uniform.

Step 2

Use a spoon to scoop the marinade sauce, then drizzle them over the mushrooms until they are completely covered, and then let them rest for about 10 to 15 minutes until the mushrooms have completely absorbed the marinade sauce. Place a skillet grill pan on top of a stove over medium-high heat, then let it heat up before you place the mushrooms, gill side up. Let them grill for about 5 minutes, then flip them over to grill the other side for about 4 to 5 minutes. You can use the marinade drippings and brush it onto the mushrooms, if you desire.
