Whenever I attend parties, aside from the fun, I always look forward to the treats that are served at the table. Personally, I prefer sweet and small food that I can easily eat in just a few moments, just like these chocolate balls by Ellen’s Kitchen on YouTube! They are irresistible, simple to prepare, and pretty addicting that you won’t be able to stop yourself from eating until it’s all gone.

Ingredients:

  • 200ml or ¾cup of milk
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • ¾ cup of flour
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • A pinch of salt
  • ¼ cup of dark chocolate
  • 2½ cups of flour
  • 4 tbsp of cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp of baking powder

Glaze

  • 1¼ cups of powdered sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tsp of lemon juice

Directions:

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, add the hot milk, sugar, and flour, then whisk them together until well combined, and allow it to cool down to room temperature. Add the egg yolk, vegetable oil, salt, and dark chocolate, then whisk them to combine, and sift over the flour, cocoa, and baking powder, and continue to mix and fold until well combined and it becomes a dough. Generously flour the counter, then transfer the batter, dust the top with more flour, and roll it out. Cut the dough into round pieces, then place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and allow it to bake in a preheated oven at 180°C or 356°F for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 2

Once done baking, let them cool down, then set them aside, and prepare the glaze. In a separate mixing bowl, add the powdered sugar and egg white, then whisk them until combined and incorporated, add the lemon juice, and continue to whisk until well combined. Transfer the cooled cookies to a large bowl, then drizzle the glaze over them, and gently toss until well coated. Transfer them to parchment paper, then leave them to set for about 30 minutes or until the glaze has dried, and serve. Enjoy!
