If you want them to be more crispy, you can cut them in thinner sizes and you can also adjust the seasoning to your preference. Learn this recipe by All Wings Everything on YouTube and give it a try today. I hope you love this dish as much as I did!
Step 1
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, Old Bay Seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper, then in a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and hot sauce, and in the final separate bowl, add the breadcrumbs seasoning it a bit to taste.
Step 2
Cut the tomatoes into ½-inch thick rounds, then sprinkle some salt on them to remove all of the moisture, and pat them dry with paper towels. Dredge the tomato rounds in the flour mixture, then dip them in the egg mixture, and coat them with breadcrumbs. Place them on a wire rack, then preheat the oil for deep frying, and cook the tomatoes in batches to not overcrowd the pan.
Step 3
Fry the tomatoes for about 3 to 5 minutes or until golden brown, then flip, and cook the other side. Place the cooked tomatoes in a wire rack or plate lined with a paper towel to drain off the excess oil, then serve with your favorite dipping sauce on the side, and enjoy!
