Christmas cookie is a traditional treat and is a must at every holiday party and there are a lot of versions of Christmas cookies that you can try which makes it an even more fun idea. Some recipes are super simple and some of them don’t even need baking at all.

But, if you want to make cookies that are extra special, then this recipe by Pastry Living with Aya is perfect for you! It looks so festive and colorful, and I’m sure both kids and adults alike will keep coming back to the table for more servings!

Ingredients for Christmas Cookies:

  • 2 sticks of butter, softened
  • 1⅓ cups of powdered sugar
  • ¼ tsp of salt
  • 1 egg, whole
  • 1 egg yolk, reserve white for eggwash
  • 3 cups of cake flour
  • ¾ cup of almond flour

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, mix together the softened butter, powdered sugar, salt, whole egg, egg yolk, cake flour, and almond flour until dough forms.

Step 2

Divide the dough into 3 portions evenly, then color each dough, and start shaping them as demonstrated in the video.

Step 3

Once you’ve shaped the wreath Santa boots, and Santa, you can now proceed to make the decorations parts, and then slice all of the logs.

Step 4

Finish decorating and some more sprinkles if desired, then freeze the cookies until ready to bake, and then bake them in an oven preheated to 350°F for about  7 minutes.

Step 5

Turn the temperature down to 330°F, then keep baking for another 7 minutes or more until the edges are slightly toasted, and serve. Enjoy!
