Whipped Cream Frosting
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F, then line a 12-cup cupcake pan with cupcake liners, and set it aside. In a large mixing bowl, add the cake mix, whole milk, oil, eggs, sour cream, vanilla extract, and almond extract, then beat them until well combined, and divide the batter into two separate bowls. Add yellow food coloring in one half of the batter and orange food coloring in the other, then scoop the yellow batter into the prepared cupcake pan about ¾ of the way up, and fill it to the top with orange batter.
Step 2
Place the cupcake pan in the preheated pan, then let the cupcakes bake according to the instructions listed in the box of the cake mix, and then let them cool in the pan for about 12 minutes. Transfer the cupcakes to a wire rack, then let them cool completely, and while waiting prepare the whipped cream frosting.
Step 3
In a large mixing bowl, add the heavy cream, cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and almond extract, then whip them over medium to high speed until stiff peaks form, and transfer the frosting to a piping bag. Pipe it over each cupcake, then add some sprinkles, and top it with candy corn. Serve and enjoy!
