Materials:

  • 1 yard of cotton fabric
  • 1 yard of Minky fabric
  • Scissors
  • Fabric marker
  • Pins
  • Yardstick
  • Needle and thread
  • Sewing machine

Directions:

Step 1

Before you start sewing the blanket, make sure to pre-wash your fabric, especially the cotton. Now, grab the cotton and Minky fabric, and measure 36″ x 36″ squares out of them making sure to measure on the wrong side of each fabric, then cut them out. Lay the Minky fabric on the table with its wrong side facing up, then place the cotton fabric with its right side facing up, and center it above the Minky fabric.

Step 2

Fold over their edges together by 1″ twice on all four sides, then pin them in place, and snip off the extra fabric at an angle on each corner before folding. Starting at any corner, stitch it with a ¼” seam allowance along the edge, then backstitch at the beginning and the end. Stitch along the outside edges of the corners to keep them down.
