Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp of sugar
  • 1/2 cup (120 g) of milk

For the custard cream:

  • 1 cup (240 g) of milk
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) of sugar
  • 1/3 cup (25 g) of cake flour
  • 1 & 1/2 tbsp (20 g) of butter
  • vanilla extract

Directions:

Step 1

Cut two slices of bread into four. Next, cracked two eggs in a mixing jug. Add 1/2 cup of milk, and 1 tbsp of sugar. Whisk it. After this, sift the eggs through a sieve. Soak the slices of bread into the eggs back and forth. Leave the slices of bread dipped in the eggs for at least thirty minutes. In the meantime, start doing the custard cream. In a bowl, add 3 egg yolks, then whisk them well. Add 1/4 cup of sugar and vanilla extract, then whisk again. Sieve 1/3 cup of cake flour, then add it to the mixture. Mix well. In a pot, add 1 cup of milk, then warm it up while gently mixing it. (If the milk is too hot, the eggs will be cooked.) Divide the milk, add the first half to the mixture, then mix it. Add the second half later, then mix it again. Sift the egg mixture through a sieve in a pot. Cook it in low heat while stirring. When it boils, turn off the heat. Add 1 & 1/2 tbsp of butter and stir the mixture well.

Step 2

Transfer the custard cream to a bowl. Cover with saran wrap and cool it in the refrigerator. After some time, when the custard cream has completely cooled off, transfer it to a piping bag. Next, brush some cooking oil on a baking sheet in a baking tray, then put the slices of bread. Place it in the oven at 375 degrees F for twelve minutes. After twelve minutes, flip them over and bake for another seven minutes. Let it cool. Next, make a space inside the bread (you can use a chopstick or fork). Fill this space with custard cream using a piping bag.
