This is an interesting way to make bread, but it’s made easy in a crockpot for those that do not have an oven or do not want to turn on their oven. The recipe by In The Kitchen With Matt on YouTube shows how simple it is to make homemade baked bread. I am fascinated that it does not take that many ingredients to make bread, and now I want to make my own. This tutorial makes me not want to buy store-bought bread again.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of water 
  • 2 1/4 tsp. of active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup of granulated sugar 
  • 2 Tbsp. of Canola or Vegetable oil 
  • 3 cups of Bread Flour (you can use all-purpose) 
  • 3/4 tsp. of salt 

Directions:

First, start off by making the dough. Add hot water, active dry yeast, sugar in a small bowl and let it activate. Then, transfer it into a large bowl and add oil and sugar. Pour the flour and salt into the liquid consistency and mix. Knead for 8 minutes, and place it back into the bowl with a towel to rise for 1 to 2 hours. Next, once the dough is split and placed in a pan, add it to the crockpot. Pour a cup of water into the crockpot, and turn it on HIGH. Check the bread after 2 1/2 hours.
