This is a very easy way to prepare chicken, not too many ingredients and steps are needed, perfect for a last-minute meal preparation. You can also take this to the next level by throwing in any ingredient that you want or by seasoning it to your preference, a bit of spiciness is also welcome.
Step 1
Clean and prepare the chicken thighs, then pat them dry with paper towels, and season them with some salt and pepper on both sides. Place them in the crockpot, then in a separate bowl, add the bourbon, brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic, and whisk them until the sugar has dissolved.
Step 2
Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, then put the lid on the crockpot, and turn it on a low setting. Allow the chicken to cook for about 4 hours or until fork tender, then once cooked, remove the chicken, and put them on a separate plate.
Step 3
Place a medium saucepan on a stove over medium heat, then pour the sauce from the crockpot, and bring it to a boil. In a small bowl mix together the cornstarch and water until well combined, then pour it into the saucepan, and whisk them until incorporated and the sauce starts to thicken.
Step 4
Turn the heat down to a simmer, then let the sauce reduce until thick, and then put the chicken back into the crockpot. Shred the chicken into large chunks, then pour the sauce over them, and serve. Enjoy!
