It is made of delicious dough, then filled with cheese, garlic, and butter, and then baked to perfection. You can make this bread whenever you want and pair it with any of your favorite beverages.   • 300g or 2¼ cups of bread flour
  • 140ml or ½ cup of warm milk
  • 6g 1 tbsp of instant dry yeast
  • 15g or 1½ tbsp of sugar
  • egg, at room temperature
  • 5g or 1½ tsp of salt
  • 20g or 1 tbsp of unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 40g or 2 tbsp of cream cheese, at room temperature

Garlic Butter

  • 70g or 5 tbsp of unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 36g or 2 tbsp of minced garlic
  • 16g or 1 tbsp of honey
  • 1g or 1 tbsp of chopped parsley

Other ingredients you’ll need

  • 140g or ½ cup of mozzarella cheese
  • Egg wash (egg + water), before baking
  • 10g or 1 tbsp of melted butter, after baking
  • Parsley, chopped


Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, add the milk, instant dry yeast, and sugar, then mix them together until combined, add the egg, and continue mixing until incorporated. Add the bread flour and salt, then continue mixing them together until well combined, and start kneading until it becomes a dough. Add the unsalted butter and cream cheese to the dough, then knead them together until incorporated, transfer to your work surface, and continue to stretch and knead before shaping them into a ball. Place the dough ball in a large bowl, then cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise at room temperature until 2 to 3 times bigger.


Step 2

In another mixing bowl, add the unsalted butter, minced garlic, honey, and parsley, then mix them together to combine, and set it aside. Degas the dough before you transfer it to the surface, knead lightly, then dust both sides with flour, and start to flatten it with a rolling pin until it turns into a rectangle shape with about 6-7mm or approximately ¼-inch thickness. Scoop the garlic butter mixture and spread it all over the dough, then sprinkle the mozzarella cheese at the top, and cut the dough into squares that would fit the width of your loaf pan.

Step 3

Stack the squares together, then place them inside a greased loaf pan with their filled side facing inward, and place the final stacks facing inward as well. Cover it with plastic, then set it aside to rise at room temperature for about 20 to 30 minutes, and then brush the top with egg and water mixture. Bake it in a preheated oven at 170°C or 338°F for about 30 minutes or until nice and golden brown, then brush the top with melted butter, and sprinkle some parsley at the top. Serve and enjoy!
