Making this dish has become easier with the help of a crockpot, now it’s less hassle and less effort to make it.

Ingredients for Crockpot Jambalaya:

  • chicken breasts, skinless and boneless, cut into chunks
  • 1 pound of andouille sausage links, sliced
  • (28 ounces) can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 stalks of celery, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups of chicken broth
  • ½ tsp of dried thyme
  • 2 tsp of dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp of cajun seasoning
  • ½ tsp of cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp of tomato paste
  • 1 cup of long-grain rice, uncooked
  • 1 pound of raw shrimp

How to Make Crockpot Jambalaya:

Step 1

Prepare and chop the bell pepper, celery, and onion, then slice the sausages, and cut the chicken breasts into small bite-sized pieces. In the crockpot, add the chopped veggies including the diced tomatoes and sausage slices, then season them with dried thyme, dried oregano, and cajun seasoning, and pour in the chicken broth and tomato paste.

Step 2

Stir everything together until well combined, then cover the crockpot with the lid, and cook them on a high setting for about 3 to 4 hours or on a low setting for about 7 to 8 hours. An hour before the jambalaya finishes cooking, add the uncooked rice, then continue to cook for a couple of minutes, and 15 minutes before the cooking time is over, add the raw shrimp. Give them a good stir to combine, then finish cooking for 15 minutes, and serve. Enjoy!
