If you’re running out of time and ideas about what to give as a gift to a loved one, then check out this lovely Christmas pillow by Jordan Fabric on YouTube that you can make quickly and easily, even at the last minute! Watch the video tutorial now to learn how.
Step 1
Pick 8 squares that you want to use, then cut them to size as shown in the video, and line the lighter squares at the back diagonally from corner to corner. Stack one light square with one dark square, then make sure their right sides are facing, and stitch on either side of the line with ¼ inch seam allowance.
Step 2
Cut them in half along the line, then press it open with the seams towards the darker fabric, and line the half-square triangles at the back diagonally across the seams. Do the same with the rest of the squares, then lay a half-square triangle with a background square with their right sides facing, and stitch on either side of the line with ¼ inch seam allowance.
Step 3
Cut them apart in half, trim off the excess, and press the fabric open. Arrange the pieces together as shown in the video, then stitch them per row, and then the rows to each other. Press the patchwork nicely, then lay your pillow backing on a flat surface, lay the batting on top, and then lay the quilted piece on top. Stitch all the way around, then prepare the pillow backing.
Step 4
Arrange the backing pieces on top of the pillow topping as demonstrated in the video, then pin them in place, flip the piece over, and stitch right beside the previous stitching line. Cut off the excess and trim the corners at an angle, then reach inside the pillowcase, and turn it right side out. Poke the corners, then smooth out the pillowcase, and insert the pillow.
